COMPANY OVERVIEW

Gorilla Safety started in November of 2013 as a fleet safety and risk management focused business. The founders started the business with overall safety in mind with modules designed to help fleets with CSA scores, accident investigations, repair and maintenance programs, and driver training, among other things. As the requirements for ELD were published, we were one of the first to begin full development in this space and are the first company to integrate the ELD with full fleet management solutions.

Our clients come to us in order to improve or maintain best-in-class status so they are able to negotiate the best contracts with their clients, improve insurance rates, decrease downtime and improved overall performance for all stakeholders.

Gorilla Safety has many capabilities including GPS, Hours Of Service (both eLogs and ELD), IFTA mileage reporting, Hours Worked by driver, Accident Scene Management tools, Fuel Tracking, patented Closed-Loop Inspection Process including the mechanic, document management system, remote write-up program and more.

 Our team is well experienced in safety and risk management and we are able to apply that knowledge and background to each relationship. It is our experience that transportation heavy businesses have multiple competing priorities allowing technology like this to help manage time, efficiencies and results in a positive way.

Mark began his career in the concrete and building material distribution business. During that time, he spent time in maintenance, dispatch, sales and operations. After that he started an insurance agency with a focus on transportation and fleet accounts. While helping clients identify best options available, he worked with clients to identify transferable and non-transferable risks within the business. This focus was the transition to building a system to help fleets manage key aspects of the business. The best practices approach employed have helped his clients in many ways from cost savings to efficiencies and reduced overall business risk.

In the development of these programs and systems, it became clear that the industry needed a more robust solution to satisfy their operational requirements. Gorilla Safety was designed to address these needs helping industry participants improve their risk profile, efficiencies and profit. As co-founder of Gorilla Safety, Mark sees great opportunities for fleets in the dynamic technology now being offered to fleets of all sizes.

Tommy Johnson, Co-founder

Tommy began his career in claims management for a major insurance company. During that time, he assisted the organization through training and implementation of key claims handling processes across the country. This career allowed for him to naturally transition in an agency start up as well. His agency’s focus was on the operations side of the business providing key insight into risk management and transfer. While working with fleets, he helped educate them to mitigate exposures and implement strategies to improve safety, which was key to ultimately decreasing insurance premiums.

Through his exacting and uncompromising standards, Tommy has contributed to the product’s innovation, stability and ease-of-use. With this solution, Drivers, Fleet Managers and Maintenance personnel are astounded by the significant impact they see to their operation.
